Yorkies are small...they are ranked high and many people looking for a small dog want them for that reason....and the greeders are more than happy to place them with them. Does not matter to them that so many will end up homeless in no time.
Which is a shame, actually. Because a properly bred GSD is a perfect family dog. They are known for being very close to their 'people'. I had a GSD Sadie who would have protected any one of us from anything. My grandma's Lab would welcome any stranger into the house and lick them to death, LOL!!! Not that Labs aren't great family dogs. I love both breeds.
