So many of these large humane society groups spend money in advertising, lobbying, and paying their own staff.
I would recommend you donate to your local animal shelter. I know my local shelter loves donations of food, toys, cleaning supplies, etc. Of course they never turn down cash or volunteers either
. Honestly if you want to help animals in your own area it is best to donate in your own back yard.
