It seems she just took him to care for him until she could find a good home. It sounds like she is more interested in finding a good home than just getting rid of him, so that is a good sign. Is he neutered? I feel sorry for the lil guy. I hope you are considering him. I'll bet he can be housebroken completely, especially, having other yorkies around to teach him the ropes.
