Default Stress reducing pheremones

I'm wondering if they really worked or if this was a coincidence...

When Tallulah first came home, she went to bed quite willingly. She has a mesh folding pen that sits right next to my bed, and as long as I was in the room, she was fine.

The last month, bedtime has become increasingly stressful. A couple of weeks ago it got so bad, I started bringing her to bed with me until she was zonked out and then put her in her bed. She would wake up a little but settled down right away. That worked for a week, then she started fussing when moved to her bed. This weekend I couldn't get her to settle down at all and ended up sleeping in my chair with her in my lap.

Having her sleep in our bed is not an option. I promised George that I would not do that, but the REAL reason is that our bed is very high off the ground and I won't risk her falling off if she gets restless during the night.

Last night I plugged in one of those pheremone diffusers right next to the bed. After a few minutes I noticed her sniffing a little but I couldn't smell anything. I let her sleep a few minutes on my bed then moved her to her pen. She woke up a little, pawed at her bed to make a nest, and went right back to sleep - not even a whimper.

So do these things really work or did I just enjoy a huge coincidence?
