I would rather use spring water than distilled. Distilled has no minerals - something that is needed for good nutrition. I would just feed a quality diet and clean the eyes daily. If you see a reddish-color around the eyes, that is a sign of infection and it is time to get some antibiotic eye drops from the vet.
