Did they get the full series of shots then? If so, I will have to say that $200 probably wasn't that bad for a vet in the cities. I space my three dogs as a result, but still pay about $75 for each to get their shots and I live up here in the sticks. Good news is, once they're all up to date, you won't have to vaccinate them every year. But I agree: a good vet that you can trust is HARD to find. Too many of them will try and talk you into shots and tests you won't ever need and that will do more harm than good. I can only recommend to do your own research. New studies show, that we are over vaccinating our dogs so don't let anybody talk you into something you're not absolutely sure of. One word of caution on the clinic you went to: I took one of my dogs to a Petsmart or Petco Vaccination Clinic once and one of my dogs had an allergic reaction to one of the shots, went into shock and almost died. It was the scarriest thing I have ever seen and I will never, ever cut corners like that again when it comes to my dogs wellbeing. Now that my current vet assured me, that I don't need to have all the shots done every day, I'm much more content with the cost involved and I trust my vet because she's not pushing her services on me. Good luck with your search and your puppies!
