We need a rule that the header of a post like this has to have "tears alert" or something. I'm sitting in my goldfish bowl of an office trying not to let people hear my sniffing or see the tears on my face.
What a touching story, and how brave to do the right thing when you could possibly lose your job or be disciplined for it. I understand why places have blanket bans on pets (and sometimes children) because so many people haven't got the common sense to know if that type of visit will disrupt important care or cause damage. It's too bad, because there are so many people who would benefit from some petting time with a well-behaved pet.
Another reason I'm making my family promise me I will have hospice at home when the time (hopefully many years down the road) comes. |
