I had the same problem when I brought Oliver home but just like everyone has said, they just want to see you and be with you
The first night he cried so I slept on the floor next to his crate and he stopped right away. The rest of the nights after that I either put the crate in the bed with me or placed the crate on my nightstand so he could see me as he fell asleep. Not sure if this is good advice because this obviously caused Oliver to be super attached to me but he sleeps with me in bed every night now no problem
