I just got my little one about 3 weeks ago. I got lucky with her because she did not cry at all during the night. But about the 2nd week she started waking up around 7 in the morning crying to get out..at that time I had her in the bathroom with the baby gate up because I read that it sometimes helps them if they can see out..well that was not the case with her. I started shutting the door and when I did that she sleeps and keeps quiet the whole night and morning until I wake up. She also knows that when I say "goodnight" and turn the lights out that it is bed time so she goes right to sleep.

I would suggest using a night light for the first few nights or however long it takes for your little one to get comfortable at night.
