If your baby is dark you want a complimentary color fabric so he can have contrast with the back ground. Cream would be a good color and would look nice. Textures are always important because it provides depth in the photo. The hand knitted blanket is a nice choice because it probably has sentimental value. You may want to bring a favorite toy or two and some of his favorite treats for a job well done. When in doubt ask the photographer for ideas of good choices. It is their job to know in advance of the shoot what ideas for the shoot they have. Ask her what would work best and likely she will love to share her thoughts with you.
