My mom called us this morning. My dad has been having chest and arm pains for a couple of weeks. He had a stress test last week that they sd showed no blockage saying it was not his heart.
This morning it started again at 3 am. By 800 he agreed to go to the hosp. Dr sd he had a heart attack within 12 hrs before then. They did a heart cath and sd he did have a blockage. Since he told dr he was allergic to aspirin they did a balloon procedure. Mom gave him a baby aspirin the last time he was in pain and nothing happened. He was told a long time ago he might be allergic. THe dr sd they have to treat him like it was 20 yrs ago. They are going to test for an allergic reaction to aspirin. Sd they will know usu within 12 hrs if the artery closed again. If so, they will do a stent. He is in icu now. I am so worried.\ though I know he is a fighter. He is a colon cancer survivor. Please, thoughts and prayers needed.
Ironic: It's my mom's family with heart problems. Out of 8 kids, 6 have had heart surgeries. My dad's family, none.
