I have mine trained to go outside, too, but I first had her using pads. I transitioned the pads to the garage, so that during storms or blizzards she could use those. She doesn't like to use the pads in the garage, but she uses them when the weather is bad. Also, I had my previous yorkie trained that way. She didn't mind using them at all. Kacee is much more of an outdoor lover though.
