You didn't mention Bentley's age. Has he blown his coat yet? If he has, he is still too short for the shaved spot to make a difference as his hair grows out. No need to worry. I groom many Yorkies, and like people, they all have different hair. Some are thin, thick, grow fast, grow slow. Use a spray conditioner before brushing. You can use a little bit of vaseline on the hair between the eyes to keep it under control while it grows. If you have a good groomer, she will want you to explain in detail what you want done with his coat. If she doesn't do as you ask, you may need to find another groomer. I ask my clients each time what they want done and if they would like a change from the last visit. As you probable know, growing the coat long will take a lot of work from you. Also, after you brush, always take a comb through, down to the skin for hidden mats. Hope this helps.
