Silky Terrier Vs Yorkshire Terrier - Proven Methods to Tell Them Apart

Buster is adorable whether he is a Yorkie or a Silky.

Bruce and I went away for a weekend several years ago. We left plenty of food and water down for the dogs (We had 3 Lhasas and 2 Yorkies at the time) and a neighbor to come over daily and make sure they had some human companionship and to let them out into the yard so the could run.

When we got home, the dogs came running to the door to greet us. We said "Hi Hsun-Ni, Hi Tzu-Hsi, hi Tee-nah, Penni and Tuppence" then "ut oh, who are you?
There was another little dog greeting us. One we had never seen before.
It was a Sunday so the next morning I called the Humane shelter to see if anyone had reported the dog missing. Luckily it was reunited with its owner (well, maybe not luckily - the woman's husband who picked him up from us wasn't happy the dog had been found!)
The dog looked like a Yorkie, but he was a Silky. A little girl had seen him running down the street and thought it was one of my Yorkies. She couldn't lift him over the fence, so went and got her daddy to put him in our yard. He came into the house when the neighbour had opened the doggy door to let our dogs out. Apparently it was the first time that the neighbour had been over and let the dogs out, so he had been with my dogs from the first day we left.
I couldn't believe our neighbour hadn't realized there was an extra "Yorkie"
