Rose, with lots of love they will live that long. Remy and Rosita's kidneys were failing. It started at the age of 12 for Remy. Rosita was quite healthy til her 14th year and I swear that if it wasn't for all the hugs and kisses, they wouldn't had made it that far. Rosita last few months was terrible. She had dementia as well as kidney failure. She probably had it before Remy died but Remy used to prompt her to go potty and to eat. She was completely lost without Remy. She would get lost in familar places and howl. She also forgot all her potty training. She would pace back and forth all day. We had to designate the dining room for her. She slept in my arms at night where I knew she would be safe. I would wake up constantly to make sure she was fine. At the end she couldn't eat because her kidneys stopped functioning and the poison manifested as ulcers in her mouth. I miss them both terribly.
