 Anal glands
I have had some experience with this.
Years ago I had a small poodle that had problems, I did the glands myself, but felt I didn't do it correctly because it was a never ending chore. It seemed I had to do it every couple months, which only shows I wasn't doing it right.
After she was gone, I got my first yorkie. She also had the problem, but I only had the vet take care of her because I felt he could express them better. He forgot to do it one time when she had her teeth cleaned, and she ended up with these horrible open sores on her hind end. That only confirmed that it was better that he did it. Every year thereafter, he did them after her teeth cleaning and I never had a problem again.:aimeeyo |
