I'm so glad you mentioned "backyard breeders". My baby came from a private home where the breeder keeps both male and female breeders. Yes it was clean, yes the puppys were warm, fed, shots, etc. But with 3-4 females dropping puppies constantly, the puppies are left in large (clean) enclosures, with almost NO interaction or socialization with people. My baby had to be taught how to play! She had no idea what a toy was, let alone stairs, carpet etc. I bought her to save her!
