That is one of the many reasons I miss Ivan, our gentle giant so much! He was 115 lbs of german shepherd and he loved his little ones so much! Nothing could get near them with him on guard. When we lived farther north we lived just a block away from the forest preserves and Ivan got into a fight with a coyote in our own back yard.
It jumped our 4ft chainlink fence. Ivan came in covered with blood and not a drop of it was his!
