It sounds like it is caused from stress/anxiety. Stress can upset their whole system.
All of my furkids travel great except one. They will all just lay down and go to sleep and they really enjoy being in the car and they never get sick no matter how long the journey is and they stay very calm and relaxed.
Now my one that doesn't do as good (Hershey) does get car sick no matter how short the distance. Just 5 minutes down the road and he would get sick. He didn't seem stressed as he would just lay there but in the end this is what was causing him to throw up. Anytime there is another dog traveling with him no matter how long the trip is he doesn't get sick. We took him and two others on a 13 hour trip and he didn't get sick once. Anytime he travels just by himself he gets sick. So he is stressed when he has to travel by himself but is relaxed when traveling with another dog.
Kinda weird if you ask me but we have tested it out several times with the same results each time. |
