I would definitely try it. I tried it with Vinnie years ago and while he didn't like it, I know a lot of dogs really benefit from the activity and interaction with other dogs. Like any multi-dog activity, there are some things to be cautious about (fights can break out and you always want to make sure your dog is only with other smaller dogs). I would also look for a facility, if one is near you, that has webcams so that you can watch what's going on. I take Vinnie & Alex to Best Friends for grooming and their whole place is wired with webcams, which makes it much more relaxing for me because I can see what is going on.
So long as the place is safe and your dog has had all necessary vaccinations, I don't see why you shouldn't give it a try!
