Clippers designed for dogs are different than those designed for human hair. If you use human clippers, you probably won't get very far before the clippers jam, especially on a thick cottony coat. You also risk injuring your pup.

Clippers make for dogs, like Andis, are expensive, but they are a worthwhile investment when taking into consideration the cost of professional grooming.
