Default MY PICKY EATER IS DOWN TO 2.75lbs -HELP!

Hello,

My little guy (Max) went to the vet about a month ago and he was 3.1lbs. He had lost about a pound and had runny stools. The vet ran test and nothing showed up so they put him on Vet Solutions high-Cal and Hills Prescription A/D (wet food). He initially did really good with the wet food but then stopped eating that. I will say that he hasnt really "lost his appetite" because he will eat dry cereal, apples, carrots, green beans and chicken...basically anything BUT dry dog food. Today I took him to the vet to get his shots and he's now down to 2.7lbs! On top of that, the vet said he peridontal disease which I feel is my fault because I was feeding him wet food, home cooked food, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Max turned 1 in September and he is the runt.
His dad weight about 2.5lbs so I didnt expect him to be very big but I'm really worried about this weight issue and the fact that he wont eat the dry food, which I'm sure is the reason why his teeth are so messed up.
Thanks!
