Funny I was just going to post on here TLC! As was stated my little Brodie has a liver shunt and we went to Cornell Animal Hospital. I couldn't have asked for better treatment for my baby!!!! Everyone there was extremely nice and accommodating. I was able to stay at the Ramada in close by (it is pet friendly and they give you a discount if you have a pup at the vet). They test to see if your dog is able to handle a shunt ligation before they even begin. You have to bring your dog in for them to officially declare him/her a shunt dog with the Internal Medicine department before they will begin. Dr Center's accepts emails from regular people (like you and me!) and will get you an appointment ASAP if she feels as though your dog has a shunt. If you have any questions about the process or cost feel free to message me!!!
Hang in there! It's a long road, but it doesn't have to turn out bad! I know I spent many, many days crying but my baby is still here with me today!
