I have a little story for you. I was grooming my little shih tzu when she was only a puppy. She had a matt , her coat is cotton. I figured I could snipped the matt out . However the scissors got too close to her skin and I hurt her.
SHe did not bleed at all , and was not sure what to do, it was a clean cut. My brother came over and looked at the injury and told me it was worse then I thought. I took my baby to the after hours vet hospital, and was told she needed to be stitched up, and under anethesia. I cried my eyes out, thinking I hurt my little pup , and felt so much guilt. I do not have too much money, and borrowed money aganist myself to pay for the expenses. She stayed overnight .
I am trying to let you know that even though it does not look serious to you only a vet can know and treat propperly. Yes, it was expensive , but the wound was not going to heal itself.
Please take your Max to the vet. Just to make sure he is ok , and for your peace of mind.
