I do not have any experience with liver shunt but I have had two yorkies treated at the University of Tennessee. One of my yorkies had a collapsing trachea and unfortunately surgery was not an option due to the location of the collapse. He passed away at the age of 4 due to this issue. I currently have a little girl with GI issues and we also went to UT to rule out any serious health issues. I highly recommend UT and I have heard wonderful things about Dr. Tobias. UT doctors have always treated us very well and truly cared for our pets. We have always had our vet refer us to UT and my understanding is that a referral is required.
