My puppy tends to try and do whatever he wants -- but he knows when push comes to shove - I'm really in charge.

If you watch puppies with their mothers, they are usually giving her a bad time and keeping her busy trying to keep them in order. She's always busy trying to train them.

I think puppies will always try to do whatever they want to do, and usually we can let them be. But when we really don't want them to do something - it's obvious that we can take charge. We are much bigger and stronger, and that alone puts us in charge.

I love my little pup's trying to get away with things and do what he wants. I don't want a little doormat. I can always step in and stop any behavior that is unacceptable or unsafe for him. And, he knows that - but it doesn't keep him from trying.

Just like little children ........... right?

I don't worry about who's the alpha dog -- I know it's me!!!!
