Thanks again for all the advice. We just got back from the Vet and all is well. The vet said Ruger is a very strong Yorkie and is very healthy. I asked about heartworms and he said he would only be concerned if Ruger was traveling a lot. Might have something to do with the altitude, but I don't know of any dog here that had heartworms. He did not spread the shots out (said he would if I really wanted him to but saw no reason) but when I asked about kennel cough he said he didn't want to over vaccinate Ruger at this time. He should be good 'till april on that, and they said to put off the shot until he has to be boarded again.

I question my vet's decisions sometimes, but other vets and specialists, down in Denver, feel he's one of the best vets on the planet.

Some of the decisions he makes regarding Ruger might have something to do with the fact that Ruger weighs in at 10.3 lbs. He admitted that certain precautions have to be taken with small Yorkies, but he doesn't see Ruger as small. Looking forward to summer, as I think the little guy can take me for a ride on my rollerblades.
