I would have her checked for heartworms with with her yearly checkup. I know you probably don't have the same incidence of heartworms in SLC as we do in warmer climes, but it should be done on a yearly basis anyway.

I'm really interested in other's opinions, too, since I have two one year olds that are due for a checkup and boosters.
