I'm Catholic and have been all my life and have been consumed with sadness the last few days. I went to Church last night to pray for him and have CNN permanently tuned on. I just want to offer my prayers for him and to anyone else here that may be effected by his declining health. He's touched me more than I could imagine one man could. I had the chance to see him in Colorado when I was in High School and it was a high point in my life.
I'll be at church for a while today, praying that if he passes it is free from pain and worry.
Is anyone else having trouble with this as I am? I really can't seem to stop crying. |
Aimee ... I [non-Catholic] feel the same sadness! I don't believe there has ever been anyone who has been so loved and respected as Pope John Paul. My Patrick was raised and educated Catholic and was an alter boy when he was young but although he left the church as a young man, the Pope's death has deeply affected us both. I know that Heaven rejoices but Patrick and I both will miss him!!
