Every time I watch one of those coupon people say they get their groceries for almost nothing I've always wanted to ask them ...... How are you getting items like meat and produce???......
I rarely see a coupon for produce and I never see any for meat(other than sausage, bacon and bologna) I typically see coupons for prepackaged convenience foods which I try to use sparingly.
I also wanted to ask if they factor in the price they paid for the coupons and the postage into their *savings* rather than just looking at the store receipt. I saw one woman mention she paid $70 for some coupons, was that figured in??.... |
It can be done, but it's not usually clipped coupons for meat and produce. For example, last week my grocery store was offering (thru the manufacturer) a $10 of next order coupon if you bought $20 worth of varied products. Most products were ones that I used (Stouffer's pizza, Poland Spring water, Skinny Cow ice cream, etc.), so I stocked up, did two separate orders, and actually got $23 worth of "on your next order" coupons. I used that to buy chicken (on sale), hamburger, fruit, veggies and deli meat. It definitely takes time and work, but it gets easier the more you do it.
