We pulverized dry food into a powder, mixed it with some broth and gave it to Dinky a few hours after he got home. We were warned that he might vomit, so we gave him about a half teaspoon first, then a little while later we gave him a bit more. He was definitely hungry. He was about 3.5 at the time.
We did the same with his food the next day or day; after that, he was fine.
