I totally understand where you are coming from. The holidays put a real strain on most of us financially. I am by no means an expert but it sounds like your little one is going on a hunger strike because he wants people food. My uncle has a maltese who is addicted to personal pan pizzas (I know that is ridiculous and I have told him so) and she refuses to eat her dog food. Once she went for 3 whole days without eating because she couldn't have her pizza!! They can be really stubborn sometimes.
