Hi Alexis, I too have a VERY spoiled, tiny, aggressive yorkie. He is 19 months now and the past 4 months got very snippy! I also have an 8 yr old larger (10#) yorkie and a 90# choc lab. My Lil Bit started showing very aggressive behavior towards both the larger dogs. He is so small it worries me he may get hurt, but he starts it. My oldest yorkie, Max has been very aggressive since he was 12 weeks old, the vet felt since he was a large dog he may not have been enough attention by the seller or "anxiety disorder" or "seperation anxiety". I don't know. I bought a soft muzzle when I got my baby yorkie and Max did not like the muzzle at all! He has never started an attack on the baby, but does still show aggression towards my gentle lab very often. I think my baby is copying this behavior and it is jealousy and him maturing and wanting to be the dominant male. But I am no expert. I have tried and still trying "time out", scolding, and separating them in their kennels for this behavior - depending on which one starts it or bites or fusses.. Nothing seems to work for me. I will monitor your question and see if anyone has some better answers. Thanks for asking this. |
