She was most likely never puppy pad trained, so you're starting from scratch.

You have to watch her like a hawk and look for the signs she has to go (sniffing, circling, etc.) and then immediately take her to the puppy pad and say "go potty" if she gets off keep putting her back on until she sniffs around and goes on it. Then treats and praise praise praise!

If she has an accident, and you catch her in the middle, get her attention (I did it with a loud clap and saying her name) to hopefully stop her mid-action and walk over to her and say firmly no. Then pick her up and take her to the pad and say "go potty." If she fully went in the accident spot and doesn't have to go anymore, that's okay just no treat/praise unless she goes on the pad. Never yell at her or try to take post corrective action. You have to catch her in the middle of doing it wrong or else she will not make a connection. Do not punish her for it, just clean it up and keep working at it. It will be slow going, but she'll get it. She also picked up a lot of habits from her old environment remember she has to unlearn and relearn new better habits, so it's harder for her.

I know it seems like you've had her forever already and that a month is a really really long time, but in the grand scheme it is only a blip on the radar. Hang in there! Look up potty training tips on YT. That's where I got all my info for training Rylie.

Oh I almost forgot to add. Make sure you are using an enzyme cleaner, like Nature's Miracle, to clean up accidents. It breaks down the smell that attracts them to go where they aren't supposed to.

I hope this helps or someone can provide more advice or correct my post if need be.

Make sure you do your own research on here! There are a lot of great threads on this problem. A lot of people with yorkies have potty training issues!
