I would defer to Ladyjane on this one because this is a dog with a very hard past and it might be more traumatizing than good for her, but I'd say with a mentally healthy pup to try crate training... I don't know about dogs with a tough past though. Are they afraid of crate/bars/crate like objects?
Have you tried consistently taking her to the potty pads and saying "go potty" when you know she needs to go? Has she gone on the pads at all? If she has, have you been giving her a treat and praising her?
If she is outside trained maybe try putting a pad outside to have her go on and then transitioning inside? I'm not sure how this would work because I've never read up on training them from outside to inside... Maybe someone else could chime in.
I really would like for it to work out for you and Chloe. A rescue would be the best choice if you can't work with her though. |
