I don't know who told you that you can't have them spayed until 1 year of age. My vet told me that I can have her spayed near six months. Due to Rylie's size (4.5lbs) and the fact that I can take better care of her during recovery while I'm on break from school and wanting to do it before her first heat, we decided to spay her this month at 5 months. She did awesome and is recovering brilliantly!
