I agree with all of the above posts...please try and hold off until the pup is 12 weeks old. The pup will get so much more training from the mom throughout the next six weeks. I know how excited you must be, but it is so much better for the pups health to wait until it is 12 weeks old. They are so fragile at this age/weight....not to scare you, but they can go downhill very quickly. My Lily was 16 weeks old when I got her and she only weighed like 2.5 lbs. That is a very tiny dog.
