I don't know if you contacted the breeder yet. Or if you have some sort of health guarantee,(check your paper work) you could make the breeder aware of what is going on. The breeder may be required to "help" pay these costs. Also some states have laws...you should check on the law in the state you bought your pup. Make sure the breeder is aware of this possible shunt...it is usually genetic.
