I probably make no sense to many, but I have a contract for PETS only. If I place something as breed/show prospect I do not have a contract..
My reason is..if the person feels it does not turn out to be what they wanted, I perfer to take the pup back, return monies, etc.
But I place perhaps one pup every two or three years for breeding..and if the pup is not suitable..then it is easy to make restitution.
MY reasoning is simple..if you aren't happy with the quality, why force the person to keep it?
A health problem is vital to a breedable dog, any problem that effects breeding is my problem, not the owners..so that money is refunded, pup taken back if the owner wants..their call.
I have dealt with many well known show breeders and you are right..I have rarely gotten a contract..and when I did, it was a sales contract...stating price, parents..not much else.
Maybe things have changed in the last few years..haven't bought anything lately. |
