I feel your pain! My 2 year old Yorkie, Teddy, has major separation anxiety and barks continuously all day while he is in his crate and we are at work. And he does often times poop and pee in the crate. We leave him out at night now but when he was just a puppy like your Bailey he would whine all night and would go to the bathroom on the floor if we didn't take him out every three hours. The only suggestion I can give is to be patient and work with him, although your health issue does make it more difficult. Does your fiance help with taking him out during the night? I would also suggest getting him on a schedule with food and water. Teddy now knows that after 730 each night he no longer gets food or water. Be sure to take him out right before you go to bed if you aren't doing so already. It's a difficult process housebreaking a Yorkie...or at least it was for me! I hope everything works out for you! |
