Jeanie this is a very common threat by millers and many will follow through with their threats. There are plenty of stories right on this forum of entire kennels being killed by horrible breeders. In addition there have been plenty of stories in the rescue forum of breeding dogs being dumped at shelters to be PTS when their usefulness is no longer needed.
Although what has happened with Elaine and her purchase of Mia the root of the problem is the breeder in question. Elaine did make several huge mistakes regarding her choice of breeders but that does not take away from the fact this puppy is so sick. Not sure why some are blaming the purchaser for a puppy's poor health when brought home from the breeder in question.
