Hi Lisa,
I'm new here, too. YT is an amazing place, chock full of wonderful advice, information, yorkies and people!
I've had dogs all of my life and only one is able to go outside without a leash and I know I can trust her completely (my golden/cocker mix). Otherwise it's a leash for all.
