Hey, don't be too hard on yourself. Once you found out that it could be a possible serious outbreak and not just an allergy you are handled it right away. That is admirable. You were right if it was an allergy the vet would have just told you to start with an elimination diet (my cat has allergies and we went through the process with her). You were doing what you thought was right for what you thought was wrong. You came on here and asked questions and as soon as you found out it wasn't allergies you made an appointment with your vet. I think you're smart, not stupid.
