I was worried about my little ones and the stairs. They loved to look through the posts of the bannister to see what was going on downstairs, particularly when they thought I would be coming in the front door or if I went downstairs to get something. I have two landings, and I was always worried with them. We were redoing our bannister and had asked to have additional posts so that they could be paced a little closer to each other. However, we were still worried about them falling through, so we had pieces of plexiglass cut that ran the entire length of both landings that we placed across the posts. The weight of the plexi allowed us to just place it there without having to screw it into the posts, and it worked great. It doesn't look bad, and it's high enough that they definitely can't fall through. They were able to see what was going on downstairs because the plexi is clear, so they didn't try to jump on the plexiglass. It gave us such peace of mind. |
