I would think that the first 24 hours would be the most important if he were to have a reaction. It probably would happen sooner rather than later and the effects may depend on his size. If you think he's having any difficutly, ie swelling, trouble breathing I'm sure you'd take him to the vet. Other than that, the bites clear up in about 1-2 weeks. I noticed about 6 bites on Max's belly a couple of weeks ago. I know we've had fire ants in the neighborhood because even I was bit recently. Anyhow, the bites looked worse before they got better so don't be alarmed when you see them in a few days (unless they look infected of course)
