As everyone said, XPENS are great! We RV, and we take our girls along, and they are ALWAYS on a 4' lead. We've run into too many people looking for their lost dog, who escaped, off-lead.
As she adjusts to being in her new home, when you asnwer the door, before you open it, say the words, "back up" to her, in a very firm voice, at first, you have to walk towards her, repeating the words, to make her understand, but once she understands, then, follow with the command, "Stay".
My girls understand back up and stay, very well.
