Here is what I do:
I buy used absorbant pads from EZwhelp.com, $3 or $4 each......
Then I sew those inside a white cotton bottom and use a cute fabric on top, especially cheap Christmas fabric or any kind of fabric to match your decor.
I sew on the top to hold it all together, a big cross or quilt pattern, anything to hold it straight in washing.
Works for me!
