My vote would depend on how much pain the little guy is in. I guess if there is enough "pain free" time to determine if he might get better by himself then I would give it a chance, unless the wait would make surgery out of the question.

I was at a dog hospital filled with specialists today, and it was amazing seeing all the dogs with problems smiling and just hopping all over the place. Dog are pretty amazing when it comes to making the best of it -- we could learn a lot from them.

Now, if the little guy is just going to be paralyzed and in constant pain, or constantly doped up, that's not a good thing.
