For those that have senior Yorkies, how often are they seen at the Vet for a check-up?

I was talking with a few friends of mine and was telling them I take mine every 3 months for a check-up and blood work just to keep on top of things. They told me I too obsessed with it.

Am I being too over protective? With loosing two recently so close together. My Lizzie will be 14 next month and I'm thinking about taking her in once a month just for a look see. Of course they are alway's at the Vet at any indication of a problem.
