Yes it can go rancid. I buy the smallest bag (5 pounds) because it takes Loki nearly 8 weeks to eat that. I also wash the container before adding his new food.
Rocky: Wellness IS a better food but there could be something in it that your pup may be sensitive to. You never know. Compare the ingredients and see if there is something that stands out to you. We think Loki is allergic to beef - any beef treats, bully sticks, etc. caused diarhea but we're still not sure exactly what caused all of his diahrea issues. We had tummy issues until we switched him Canidae. Canidae has pro-biotics in it, which I guess helps their little tummies. Loki can eat things now that would make him sick before, like cheese. We still are strict about table food but he truly has improved. Canidae sent us literally 2 weeks worth of samples. It was awesome. |
